Synopsis –

This film is an engaging and poignant depiction of a woman whose life has reached the point of no return. The anecdote unfolds in an colorful scheme encouraging you to continue to capture with it. The music ancient is haunting and entirely appropriate for each scene adding to the drama.

This movie is not for the faint of heart. It deals with adult themes and criminal activity. It does this in a completely artful method. I saw the film originally during a Korean film festival on television and subsequently bought it as a gift for a family member.

I deem a lot of reviews of this film have been unduly harsh. I have had a attractive amount of Shakespearean exposure (I was an English major in college), and I am actually impressed with Baz Luhrmann’s interpretation of the text. Some people are so blinded by the seeming erudite stuffiness of Shakespeare’s work that they forget what this play is really about. `Romeo and Juliet’ is a teenage melodrama! With that said, this film works well.

Never has Romeo or Juliet felt so alive, so precise and so relatable. Their tragic fancy affair is so bewitching, so intriguing and so breathtaking. There are moments between them of pure beauty and strength that I’m appalled their performances didn’t garner more awards attention.

The rest of the cast is equally as impressive, especially the likes of Harold Perrineau (of `Lost’ fame) who plays Romeo’s best friend Mercutio. His performance is weird and flamboyant and adds a lot to the atmosphere of the film. John Leguizamo is memorable as Tybolt, Juliet’s cousin, and Pete Postlethwaite is amazing as Father Laurence. Paul Sorvino stands out for me as Juliet’s father Fulgencio Capulet. His performance is brutal and intense and sends chills down my spine in scenes.

`William Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet’ has never looked as well-behaved as it does here, telling the chronicle of forbidden appreciate and tragic circumstance that brings two families to their knees and teaches us a significant lesson about forgiveness and tolerance. Before anything else, I must say that I’ve read the Biblical book of Esther but NOT the book “Haddassah” by Tommy Tenney and Ticket Andrew Olsen on which this film is based. With that said, I’ll treat this film as unbiased another savor sage and not an interpretation of the Biblical narrative of Esther, which does vary from this film quite a bit.

I found no quandary with the sound quality. I understood every word very clearly. Secondly, the visuals, especially the CGI created palace, were fantastic. The colors in this film hearkened serve to the days of the conventional technicolor luminous, popping colors that have long dilapidated from many memories.

Overall, I highly recommend this film as a amazing like tale. Are there better films out there that are Biblically based? You bet. But as far as adore stories go, this is one of the best in the last ten years.

We saw director Anand Tucker’s upcoming release “When Did You Last Peruse Your Father? ” earlier this spring at Dallas’ ‘AFI 08′ film festival. Tom McCarthy’s The Visitor was our current out of the eight films we were able to gawk, but Tucker’s latest was a cessation second. 380 minutes of running time means these discs include only the fresh 9 episodes that already aired on television. Even these producers didn’t have the kahonies to make a conclusion to satisfy their diehard fans whom one would catch would gobble up this residence at a chance to pick up some answers. I loved this explain, but this DVD status is a steady disappointment.

It was excellent seeing Christian Slater on-screen again. I looked forward to this present every week. There was a tiny suspense with each prove as to when and under what residence that mild-mannered Henry would appear when hitman Edward would be in the middle of doing what he does. Definitely should quiet be on the air. Reminds me of when Modern York Undercover was taken off the air.

Put simply, any fan of the novel “Read or Die” OVA series should inspect R.O.D the TV… The first half of the series seems only midly connected to the unusual Read or Die OVA because it is based on the “Read or Dream” manga/comic which features a different cast. The second half of the series (episodes 14-26) combine “Read or Die” and “Read or Dream”, in terms of both characters and plotline. You will approach to realise that R.O.D the TV is far better than “Read or Die”!

Some people might not be that impressed with the first volume of R.O.D the TV, due to a total lack of action scenes in episodes 2 and 3. Well, from Volume 2 onwards, there is far more action… the reason for the two comedy-based episodes is that Read or Dream is based is far less action-orientated than Read or Die and concentrates more on the comical anticts of the characters. The first episode of Volume 1: The Paper Sisters will be very magnificent to action fans, while the fourth episode has a nice action accomplish. I found episodes 2 and 3 to be very humorous rather than dull; some may disagree, but are distinct to devour the rest of the series as it is more action packed.

R.O.D the TV seems a small outlandish for the early episodes, but it turns into one of the best anime series in years. It has ample action, astronomical fun and yet moments of gargantuan emotion and tension.

First, the animation of a TV series is usually of lower quality than that of OAV series or movies; this seems to be the case. With the box being a book, it is very relevant to the series as this series revolves around the esteem of books and some conspiracy on having some of them. I guess the downpoint to this sort of box is that while it conserves dwelling, you don’t have a state to contain the other DVD cases as you consume each additional volume.

Final Note: I judge now we realize that the anime DVD market has become a sort of art as companies are coming up with modern ways, competing to stand out or have a fresh release. It’s terrible for our wallets but it’s first-rate for the companies. Geneon (formerly Pioneer) always finds ways to outdo itself. Bravo.

It’s not so remarkable the scenes of horrific violence in themselves that get one wince here (after all, presumably one has signed on for a hardcore violent thriller when ponying up to rent or acquire this deplorable title), but it’s the frequent juxtaposition of disturbing violence with slapstick comedy that is the really unsettling thing. It’s really unfamiliar, for example, to stare a violent rape & assault immediately followed by a scene of two cops having to hitch a gallop on a chicken truck, and (as if that weren’t enough) a few seconds later scrutinize the cops tumble off the truck when it stops too like a flash. Very strange. Also, the piquant among you should be aware that this film isn’t nearly as polished or professional looking as the slick box art might lead you to acquire. In other words, if you have no tolerance or appreciation for on-the-fly, low-budget guerilla film-making, avoid this at all costs. I DO have a positive affection for this type of film-making, and even I said “whoa, what were they thinking?? ” and “Wow, that’s really cheap looking (or sounding) ” several times during the course of this. Ultimately, however, I have to say that the movie is worth a witness, but it’s probably worth a gawk more because it’s an enthralling bit of movie history than because it’s actually a righteous movie.

THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT is Wes Craven’s startling debut as a no holds barred alarm director. Unflinching in its depiction of torture, rape, and humiliation it can level-headed develop audiences gasp almost thirty years after its initial release. This sage of two young girls on their scheme to a concert and their misfortunate urge in with four hazardous fugitives is necessary viewing for any fan of the Fear genre. What really worried me in this film is the scheme the four villains had so distinguished fun in demeaning and then killing the two girls. And how very halt encourage was… Tiny Craven-esque quirks tended to pop up (such as a sudden shift from coarse violence to a scene of almost slapstick humor) that will remind viewers of the Elm Street and Cry series. As well as one of the killers names being “Krug” add an “er” and well, you figure it out. Support a eye out for the mother’s scene of revenge down by the lake, that alone is worth the trace of admission. Truly deserving of “cult” plot!
